FAQ’s

The Brooklyn Democratic Party represents and advocates for Democrats from every corner of the borough. We’re one of the largest Democratic organizations in the U.S., with 1.2 million registered voters and 42 District Leaders among 21 Assembly Districts.

We’re proud to be one of the most diverse political organizations in the nation; welcoming leaders and activists of every ethnicity, religion, race. We’re a grassroots organization, and we help elect leadership that is reflective and inclusive of your community. We are a big tent party, and the flap is open to everyone.

We encourage all Democrats to run! Please note that many of the County Committee vacancies were filled for the 2020-2022 term during our 2020 Organizational Meeting.

Getting on a ballot generally requires petitioning—collecting a minimum number of signatures from citizens who are eligible to vote for the office. The next chance to petition for the Kings County Democratic Committee is in 2022.

We encourage you to stay in touch in the meantime and to ask any questions below. We will also email you with any pertinent updates as the time comes closer to getting on the ballot:

You can put in your address here to find your election district and your closest voting site. Every electoral district listed corresponds with your representatives and legislators. For the Brooklyn Democratic Party (if you live in Brooklyn) your Assembly District corresponds to your district leader and your election district shows the county committee members in your area (or where you can run for the position).

Fill out the form and someone will be in touch shortly!
